About the event

In this one-hour webinar, participants will discuss disparities between Black/African Americans in a rural context with mental and behavioral health problems encountered in the mental and behavioral health system and society at large. We will look at the socio-historical context and the conditions that create race-based stress, the prevalence of bias and discrimination in mental and behavioral health systems towards Black/African American clients, and identify the role of service providers and agencies in fighting health inequities, bias, and discrimination apart of ensuring quality care.
