New Jersey
Rutgers University School of Social Work
RUSSW has established partnerships across NJ since its inception in 1954 and is located within Rutgers University, the highest ranked public university in Region 2, and home to one of the largest academic and medical research unit mergers in history. The RUSSW faculty are ranked 3rd among all SSWs nationally in research productivity. The school also houses the Rutgers Center for Prevention Science (CPS), established in 2016, which emphasizes community-driven efforts to prevent and intervene on substance use consequences that harm communities. Many of these are SAMHSA awards, including the Region 2 PTTC (2018 – 2023) and New Jersey’s State Opioid Response (2018 – 2022).
